Reggaeton is a musical genre that is influenced by hip hop and reggae, which has a sticky rhythm; therefore, nowadays is one of the most reproduced genres aound the world.On the other hand, according with  Muñoz. D (n.d) comments “reggaeton hurts children, anguish and affects their cognitive development”. For instance, presenting content that can give a bad message to the child; such as, drugs, mistreatment, vainglory, stealing or use of women.

Nowadays it is normal to listen children sing reggaeton songs; even though many times they do not understand what they are really saying; that is to say, they only do it because people close them to listen this type of music and only seek to imitate or do what others do;  nevertheless, this is extremely harmful for children because they are absorbing messages contrary to the values that their parents may be inculcating. In the same way, children not being prepared to assimilate these messages can have consequences on their behavior; For example, feel anxious to grow fast, practice values contrary to respect, tolerance and solidarity, belittle women or simply begin to believe that women should do everything men wants, be materialistic or start dancing in a not adequate way.

There are different genres of music that can be heard by children without harming their development, in fact, children should listen to music appropriate to their age and that strengthens appropriate models of behavior; likewise, music can be used as a method of cultural formation by developing language, vocabulary and auditory memory in children. Therefore, it is important that parents or teachers guide the children and are aware of what information they are receiving.
